Phrases of reason (Cụm từ chỉ lý do)
Thường bắt đầu bởi Because of, Due to hoặc Owing to
Because of / Due to/Owing to + V-ing / Noun / pronoun
 Eg: We didn’t go out due to the cold weather.
 They are here because of us.
Adverbial clauses of reason ( Mệnh đề trạng ngữ chỉ lý do)
Là mệnh đề phụ chỉ lý do hoặc nguyên nhân của hành động được nêu trong mệnh đề chính. Thường được nối với mệnh đề chính bằng Because/ Since/ As (since và as thường đứng đầu câu)
Because/ As/ Since + S+V
Eg: He came ten minutes late because he missed the first bus.
- Since/ As he missed the first bus, he came ten minutes late.
- She was worried because it started to rain.
- They didn't take part in the trip because the weather was bad.
III. Cách rút gọn mệnh đề lý do sang cụm từ chỉ lý do
a. . because + đại từ + be + adj .
 → because of + tính từ sở hữu + N
Eg: He failed the exam because he is lazy.
 He failed the exam because of / due to his laziness.
b. because + N + be + adj
 → because of + the + adj + N
Eg: They can’t go fishing because the weather is bad.
 They can’t go fishing because of the bad weather.
c. . because + S + V + O
 → because of + V-ing + O (thường dùng khi 2 chủ ngữ giống nhau)
Eg: She got ill because she worked hard.
 She got ill because of working hard.
