1. Education aim: Understand the important roles of computer in daily life. Read and connect words and phrases to the parts of the equipment of computers.
2. Knowledge:
- General knowledge: Guessing meaning in the context, passage comprehension.

 3. Skills: Scanning for specific information. Summary the text in speaking or writing form.
II. METHOD: Mainly communicative.

Matching
Look at the illustrations of different pasts of a computer system and match each number with one of the words or phrases in the box.

1. What can the computer do to help us in our daily life?
It helps us visit shops, offices, and places of interests, pay bills, read newspapers, receive letters.
2. Why is computer a miraculous device?
It's a miraculous device because:
- It capable of doing anything you ask.
- It can speed up calculations.
- It can manage large/ collection of data.
- It allows you to type and print. (Or because it is not only capable of providing information but is used as a calculator machine.
IV. POST – READING:
- Ask Ss be in 2 teams to attend the activity
- Ask Ss to work in pairs 
Note: Ss may know the parts of a computer but they don't know English words them so just go around the class and provide help when necessary.
- Call on some Ss to read their answers in front of the class. Feedback and give further explanations. Give correct answers:
- Ask Ss to repeat the words several times to make sure Ss pronounce the words correctly.
- Explain the new words:
- Ask Ss to work in group and make a list of the benefits of computers in modern life/ the roles of computers in modern life/ thing that computers can do.
- Gather the ideas and introduce the reading:
- Ask Ss to read the passage and matching the words in A with the definition in B.
- Encourage Ss to guess the meaning of the words in the context in which they appear.
- Call on some students to read and explain their answers in front of the class.
- Feedback and give correct answers:
- Tell Ss to read the passage more carefully and choose.
- Let Ss discuss their answer with a friend. Encourage them to explain their choice.
- Further explain and give correct answer:
- Have Ss word in pair and answer the question using the given cues.
- Go around the class and provide help if necessary.
- Call on some pairs to act out the activity in front of the class.
- Comment and give suggested answers:
- Ask Ss to work in pair or groups and discuss other uses of computer in daily life.
- Suggest question for discussion:
Computers have become part of our daily lives. We visit shops, offices, and places of scenic beauty with the help of computers. We pay bills prepared by computers. We read newspapers and magazines which have been produced on computers. We receive letters from and send letters to almost every part of the world with the help of computers. And we can even learn foreign languages on computers.
Máy tính đã trở thành một phần trong đời sống hàng ngày của chúng ta. Nhờ có máy tính chúng ta có thể thăm cửa hàng, cơ quan, các danh lam thắng cảnh. Máy tính làm hóa đơn thanh toán tiền. Chúng ta có thể đọc báo và tạp chí xuất bản trên mạng máy tính. Chúng ta có thể nhận và gửi thư đến hầu hết mọi miền của thế giới nhờ vào máy tính. Chúng ta thậm chí có thể học ngoại ngữ bằng máy tính.
What makes a computer such a miraculous device? Each time you turn it on, with appropriate hardware and software, it is capable of doing almost anything you ask it to. It is a calculating machine which speeds up calculations: it can add, subtract, multiply, and divide with lightning speed and perfect accuracy.
Điều gì đã khiến máy tính trở thành một công cụ kỳ diệu đến thế? Mỗi lần chúng ta bật máy tính có cài đặt phần cứng và phần mềm thích hợp, nó có khả năng thực hiện hầu hết bất cứ điều gì bạn yêu cầu. Nó là một thiết bị tính toán có thể thực hiện rất nhanh các phép tính cộng trừ nhân chia với tốc độ ánh sáng và độ chính xác hoàn hảo.
It is an electronic storage device which manages large collections of data. It is a magical typewriter which allows you to type and print any kind of document - letters, memos or requests for leave. It is a personal communicator which helps you to interact with other computers and with people around the world. And if you like entertainment, you can relax by playing computer games or listening to computer-played music.
Máy tính là một thiết bị lưu trữ điện tử quản lý những tập dữ liệu lớn. Nó là chiếc máy chữ thần diệu cho phép bạn đánh máy hay in bất kỳ loại văn bản nào - thư từ, bản ghi nhớ hay đơn xin phép nghỉ. Nó là một công cụ giao tiếp cá nhân giúp bạn tương tác với các máy tính khác và với mọi người trên khắp thế giới. Và nếu bạn thích giải trí, bạn có thể thư giãn bằng cách chơi trò chơi điện tử cài trong máy hay nghe nhạc được chơi từ máy tính.
