Presentation 1: Revision (Tenses) (20 minutes) - Remind the tenses and the usage of them. - Tell students about 7 main tenses in English that they should keep in mind: 1. Guiding students’ book and workbook: - Introduce to students how to use their book and workbook - Introduce student how to learn reading, speaking, listening, writing, language focus in their book and how to do exercise in their book. - Introduce the English book 10: -There are 16 units, we will study all except Unit 15. - some units has 5 lessons , about 5 periods. - test yourself : do at home and then teacher will check it in class. 2: Guiding English test in grade 10: 1- Checking frequency knowledge for the previous lesson. 2- Fifteen minutes test (3 times for each semester) 3- Forty five minutes test (2 times for each semester) 4- Semester test (Once for each semester) - Guiding other books and tapes, disc.. IV. Knowledge : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to guess the meaning of the new words , ask and answer the questions basing on the content of the text and talk about a daily routines of a farmer. Students can guess the meaning in context and do task 1. 2. Skill : - Guessing meaning in context - Passage comprehension 3. Attitudes - Help Ss to know about a daily routine of a person such as a farmer and ask for and giving information about a person and their daily works. 4. Competences - Develop collaborative, problem-solving and communicative competences. II. Preparation 1. Teacher: English books 10 and handouts. 2. Pupils: English books 10. III. Matching - Give Ss hands-out and ask them to work in pairs to match A with B - Ask Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer the questions like this: S1: Where does a doctor work? Task 1: Multiple choice. -Go through task 1 then ask ss to work in groups of 4 to choose the option A. B or C that best suits the meaning of the italicized words. -Go through the class and provide help if necessary. -Have ss compare the answers with other groups. - Get feedback and correct. 4. Skill: Reading : - Scanning for specific information - Students do more homework in the workbook 3. Attitudes: - Help Ss to know about a daily routine of a person such as a farmer and ask for and giving information about a person and their daily works, helps students to know how to do homework in the workbook. 4. Competences - Develop collaborative, problem-solving and communicative competences. II. Preparation 1. Teacher: English books 10 and handouts. 2. Pupils: English books 10. III. Matching - Ask one students to go to blackboard to write new words in unit 1 part A: Reading. - Ask one more student to read the reading passgae and give them marks. 2. Continue doing Task 2. Comprehension questions. - Go through all the questions. - Get ss to read the text again and find out the answers. - Have ss work in pairs to compare the answers and ask and answer the 5 questions. 1. What is Mr. Vy’s occupation? 2. What time does he get up and what does he do after that? 3. What does he do in the morning? 4. What do Mr. Vy and his wife do in the afternoon? 5. Post-reading. -Ask ss to work in group of 4 and talk about Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet’s daily routines. - Call some Ss to present before the class and give them marks if they do well.
